The Firm’s lawyers came from the finest law schools in the Philippines and were graduated at the very top of their class. Two founding partners, Zamora and Poblador, were the class valedictorians, both graduating magna cum laude, of class 1969 and class 1983, respectively, of the College of Law of the University of the Philippines. Poblador obtained his master of laws from Harvard Law School in 1989 and is the current managing partner of the Firm. He has been chosen by Asia Law Profiles, a Euromoney publication, as a leading litigation lawyer in the Philippines. Castillo was graduated salutatorian, cum laude, in 1963 from the College of Law of the University of the Philippines. Vasquez was graduated cum laude, class salutatorian, in 1987 also from the same University. Bretaña was also graduated at the top ten of his class from the same University in 1990. The junior partners of the Firm are Aissa V. Encarnacion (1992, University of the Philippines), Simonette E. Sibal-Pulido (1995, University of the Philippines), Brigida H. Romualdez-Aquino (1998, Ateneo de Manila University) and James Gerard M. Baello (2003, University of the Philippines).
